The Raleigh Astronomy Club has grown into a hobby club with several hundred members. Our primary means of communication is via emails, which can lead to a fair amount of traffic.
To keep the conversations relevant, the club has created email subgroups which allow our members to pick and choose which discussions they wish to partake in without filling up their inbox with unrelated discussions.
Our email groups are restricted to members only. Any member can join as many groups as they like and may leave any group at any time. Joining and leaving a group is as easy as sending an email (just send a blank email to the email address in the link below), but can also be managed online.

Our members have requested some beginner level groups. Anyone can post in the above groups, but to help our newer members, these groups are available.

Notes:
The parent email group is called “Announcements”. All members are subscribed to this list and asked to not unsubscribe. Only our email moderators can post to this list as it is designed for only minimal email traffic.
The club maintains other lists for special purposes, including to discuss upcoming events or special club groups.
