- November 13 – The Hartwell (Raleigh)
- Coordinator: Steve B
- Volunteers: Steve B, Mike, Jesus
- Recap: Steve B –
We had about 30 people stop by the rooftop deck at The Hartwell to skywatch. Light pollution is severe at this site but we were able to view Saturn, Uranus, the Pleiades, and a few open clusters and nebula. The group was mostly young adults with a few kids and they were very appreciative for our coming out. I recognized a few folks from the last time that we were there.
- November 15 – Scouts – Camp Campbell (Clarksville, VA)
- Coordinator: Matt L
- Volunteers: Matt, Jesus, Steve B
- Recap: Steve B –
After a nice dinner provided by the Scouts, we observed on a grass field at the camp. High clouds mostly moved out to reveal reasonably dark skies near Kerr Lake. About 30 scouts and parents observed Saturn, M31, and a variety of other dark sky objects. The field was narrow so wherever you set up one direction was obscured by tall trees.
