    • Attendees: 50+

Despite intermittent clouds and a 61F dew point in mid-December (!), we were able to show 50+ attendees at The Willard Saturn, Jupiter, the Orion Nebula, and a few nebulas from Blair’s Seestar. Unfortunately we had to hurry to pack up at 9:20 PM due to incoming rain.

  • January 4 – Starry Night Party (Raleigh)
    • Coordinator: Susan H
    • Volunteers: Doug, Dean, Susan, Blair, Ann, Marshall
    • Attendees:  ~60
    • Recap: Susan H –
The Starry Night event at St. Giles went very well on Saturday.
Setting up in the parking lot gave us a clear but limited view of the sky. We had one Seestar, and three Dobs set up for viewing. Targets included the Moon, Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, the Pleiades & the Andromeda Galaxy.  Overall we had @60 participants during the 2 hours we were set up. Very enthusiastic group!
