Why is Discord Pinging My Phone Every 3 Minutes?
Discord can send a lot of notification – and the more active a server, the more notifications. Every time someone posts about anything, in any channel you have access to, Discord may ping every device which has Discord installed. This can get a bit annoying!
Adjusting Notifications for the Entire Server at Once
Tip: Do this first… Set this to be your default notification level:
- Right Click on the RAC Discord Server
- Select Notification Settings
- Select: All messages, only @mentions (this is when someone calls you out, or calls out a group you are in), or Nothing
Recommended: Only @mentions
Optionally, you can suppress other notifications.
Change Notification Settings for Specific Category or Channel
For each category or channel, you can adjust the notification level. This will override the server level setting you created above (and a channel setting overrides a category setting). Simply right click on the channel or category, and follow the same steps as above.
