Dr. Blondin, professor of physics at NC State, spoke about modeling the gas disk around X-Ray binaries The talk was recorded and available on YouTube.

Outreach: Next event September 27, 2015 at North Cary Park. This event will feature a total lunar eclipse. Please plan to attend as we are expecting a good sized crowd.
Club Picnic: Set for September 19, time TBD (aiming for ~2pm). Will be held at Chris Cole’s uncle-in-law located off Kelly Rd in Apex. We need a headcount to know how much food. 6 people indicated they would attend (in addition to those who already RSVP’d via the Yahoo group.
Loaner Scope and Club Storage: John, Phyllis, and Jim spent an afternoon at the club storage facility and started to clean it out. A few items with limited resale value were given out, first-come first-serve at the meeting. There may be more giveaways in the future. Items with a resale value will be sold to support purchase of new equipment.
About 10 members convened at Tripps for dinner.
