The Raleigh Astronomy Club co-hosted it’s annual Astronomy Days event with the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh on Saturday, January 25 and Sunday January 25, 2014. Over 10,000 guests attended the event and enjoyed the exhibits, activities, presentations, and workshops. This year featured an expanded presentation format with over 30 different topics so there was something for every astronomical of space interest!
Once again the Raleigh Astronomy Club fielded many fine exhibits and created several new ones, including an update to display on Exoplanets and an interactive exhibit of the constellation Orion. However, the backbone of the event, as always, are all the great club members who volunteer their time and efforts to bring astronomy and space to the triangle area.
RAC members taught classes on getting started in astronomy/astrophotography, gave lectures on black holes, provided two displays of telescopes, conducted solar observing, answered astronomical questions, and discussed Exoplanets. All members who participated can be very proud of the results and we thank them!!!
