Origin of Chemical Elements Talk

At the February Indoor meeting, we were treated to fascinating talk by Dr. Carla Frohlich of the NCSU Astrophysics Department.  The topic was the Origin of Chemical Elements and focused on the various nucleosynthesis processes, especially those occurring in core collapse supernovae, that enriched the early galaxy with all the all heavy elements (elements heavier than helium).

Dr. Frohlich engaged the members and visitors that were present and fielded many questions.

In the Club Business section of the meeting, The NRC Grand Opening (24 hour event beginning April 20th at 5pm thru to April 21st at 5pm) as well as Astronomy Days (May 19th and 20th).  More detailed information on club business will be posted in the members section.

After the meeting about 15 members and guests joined up at Cameron Bar & Grill in Cameron Village for dinner and drinks.
