- Imaging Meeting Location vote
There was not enough for a quorum. At the in meeting the vote was
Yes – Six
No – Zero
So tallying this with the online votes this was still not a quorum. This will be voted on again to catch the rest of the members that have not voted.
- Vote on the Constitution
The members were reminded to vote on the constitution before January’s meeting – January 9th. Currently, the club does not have a quorum. Ian Hewitt will be sending out reminders to members that have not voted, via postal mail. So there will be three ways to vote – online (this is preferred), postal mail or in person at the January meeting.
- Astronomy Days
This is coming up in January. The date is January 25 and January 26 – Saturday and Sunday respectively. There is a website available to give you a sense of what this is all about. The website is www.astronomy days.org. Mike Keefe has had three planning sessions to help with the planning and he is the contact for any questions.
The club needs volunteers to help with the exhibits. You do not have to know a lot about astronomy, just be willing to talk to the public. In case you are unsure of what you need to say, there will be scripts for each exhibit to help people out. The shifts are about two hours or if you can stay all day – you get a free lunch.
Details for signing up are coming out soon.
- Social in March
The club will have a social get-together in March, instead of our regular meeting. This has always been a good time. This is usually pot luck, so start thinking about what you want to bring. The date is March 13, 2014.
- Public Events

The second location is the Annie Wilkerson Nature Preserve. This is located in North Raleigh and will be from 7pm to 9:30pm as well
This will be more information as to how to sign up as it gets closer to this event.
- Howell Woodstock
It is on April 5th and is located at Howell Woods.
- NCMNS Prairie Ridge Eco Station
A tentative date was suggested as January 3rd or 4th of 2014. The museum is happy to accommodate the club’s schedule. Doug Lively will organize this event. What your email for news of this event.
- Carl Moreschi email
One of our members, Carl Moreschi, has invited the club to his property as a future observing location. Several members have visited this location. It is over an hour away and it is pretty dark. There is power as well. A question came up in the meeting about how many people it could accommodate. Ian Hewitt will ask Carl this question.
