- Astronomy Days
Mike Keefe went over the different exhibits from last year. This is located in a spreadsheet. This spreadsheet has the exhibit, the equipment requirements and lessons learned. Contact Mike Keefe for the location of the spreadsheet. We are looking for people to work the exhibits, to give more talks and a coordinator for Astronomy Days. This happens on January 26 and 27, which is Saturday (9am-5pm) and Sunday (1pm-5pm). The meeting for January 25 (Friday) will take place with the keynote speaker. Stay tune for the electronic sign up.
- Indoor Meeting for November
This is the Friday after Thanksgiving. This may be in the Daily Planet Café. There will be no meeting for December.
- Annie Wilkerson Park Public Observing
This public observation session happened 10/21/2012. It went very well. Here is a recap from Brian Reasor:
Thanks to everyone who came out to help at the AWNP public star gaze tonight. According to Marti Kane, we had 75+ people show up for this first time event at AWNP. Everyone did a great job of working around the cloud cover that blew in and treating the public to some good viewing. I had about a dozen people stop by my scope during the evening and we were able to view: the Moon, Neptune, M13, M15, M2, M103, M45, M57, M27, M34, M31, Double Cluster, and Alberio. Everyone had a lot of great questions about the sky and our equipment.
- After the meeting, club members met at TK Trips for Dinner.
