This was a very informative and interesting talk. Michel Tournay is a repeat speaker and a very good one. He is a prolific photographer and an avid solar eclipse chaser. He gave two talks for the price of one.

The warm up was about his travels to the western United States to view the eclipse that happened earlier this year. He and his traveling companion found the line of the eclipse in Texas and watched it from there. He had pictures of this and pictures of other places on his trip, including Roswell, White Sands and the very large array.
The main event was all about the Solar Eclipse over Easter Island. He also discussed the Moai. He showed many pictures of both the solar eclipse and the Moai. He had some very beautiful pictures of the Moai with the solar eclipse.
Both of these talks, accompanied by the abundance of photos, made for a very enjoyable evening.
During the businss portion of the meeting, elections for club oficers were held. Â This year’s roster of officers was as follows:

Chuck Jaynes – Treasurer
Ann Murphy – Secretary
The club approved the selected slate of officers and voted them into office without opposition for the 2012 – 2013 Year.
