Regular meeting Sept. 24, 2010 – RAC Club Swap Meet. Tonight was a regular indoor meeting at the museum, but it was a bit unusual as it was a departure from our normal meeting format of a talk and then a business meeting. Tonight was our second and hopefully annual Club swap meet. Members brought equipment that they wished to sell. Other members and guests came hoping to pick up some used bargains. The Club raffled off several items including an 8 inch mirror and matching diagonal, a Meade DS114-AT, a RAC T-shirt, a book, and lots of miscellaneous telescope parts. Club members brought several telescopes including a nice 6" Dob, a Celestron 8″ SCT, and a Meade 80 mm refractor. There were also plenty of eyepieces, binoculars, books, and charts. The Club furnished a tasty ice cream cake, sodas, coffee, chips, and dips to make sure no one went hungry. Around 34 people attended.
