Welcome to the Raleigh Astronomy Club! |
|
The Raleigh Astronomy Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and promoting amateur astronomy and is a member of the Astronomical League.
Each year we bring astronomy to thousands of people through our public activities which include:
- Giving talks at local schools, museums, scouting events and many others
- Sponsoring public observing sessions in and around Wake county
- Co-sponsoring the annual Astronomy Days exhibit in January at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh
If you would like to request a talk or observing program for a group, please note that as a non-profit organization, the Club does not normally participate in events that require an admission fee.
The Club holds meetings twice each month where members share their own astronomical interests, listen to guest lecturers, and observe at the Club's observatory or other dark sky sites. |

Visitors are always welcome to attend Club meetings. Meetings are held at 7:30 pm on the second and fourth Fridays of each month. One of these meetings is devoted to astronomical observing and the other is typically an astronomy related presentation at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in downtown Raleigh. The Club has a telephone recording service on which current Club information is posted, and where you may leave messages. The number is (919) 460-7900. For more information, see Meetings. |
